The Chef

Hailing from Montenegro, the country known as the Pearl of the Mediterranean, Chef Radovan Boskovic, or Rado as he prefers to be called, was actually an accidental chef.  With his first love being soccer, Chef Rado dreamt of being a professional soccer player one day while completing his studies at the School of Economy, Trade and Catering-Tourism in Trebinje, Bosnia.

Upon graduation, Chef Rado started his career as a catering manager at Hotel Tourist Enterprise, in Boka, Montenegro. It was at this point that he gained exposure to Italian cuisine and more specifically the art of pizza making, hence commencing his passion for cooking.

In 2002, while traveling to visit his cousin here in Singapore, Chef Rado saw an opportunity to deepen his interest in traditional pizza making and took up the position of Pizza Chef at the well known Italian Restaurant, Alforno, at East Coast Road, thus beginning his culinary career in Singapore. Within the 5 years at Alforno, Chef Rado helped establish the restaurant as one of the leading Italian restaurants in the local F&B scene, making a name for himself as a pizza maestro and even starring in a few TV commercials by Citibank, in which he performed the art of pizza making.

Bringing with him his skills and experiences in heading an Italian Pizza Kitchen, Chef Rado now rises to the challenge of revamping Pizzeria’s menu and leading the team at the restaurant. Drawing inspiration from traditional Italian dishes that he worked with back home, Chef Rado has since introduced new dishes such as Melanzane Alla Parmigiana, which is an oven baked eggplant with Parmesan Mozzarella that is reminiscent of how an Italian household would do it.

Also, he has improved upon our pizza dough recipe bringing our wood fired pizzas to new heights. Some signature pizzas not to be missed would be Pizza Giardino that is topped with bresola rucola, an Italian air dried beef and Misto Carne which is a meat lovers pizza. Our pastas and desserts are equally good with our well known Tiramisu being more decadent and fine tasting now. The profiteroles are also another highly recommended dolce that is filled with ricotta cheese instead of the usual vanilla ice-cream.
